All alumni must sign up to participate through the MDB Alumni Association. Please also download the information packet for important details and schedule of the day. The deadline for everyone to sign up will be April 15th.

All participants should wear comfortable, Bama gear on Saturday. Jeans, khakis, or shorts for bottoms and some type of Bama gear for shirts.

  1. Complete the online information form by clicking here
  2. Each prospective member should obtain evaluations from three (3) current members of the 2012-2013 Leadership Team.  At least one of those three must be a current Drum Major, one must be a section leader from your section.  The third evaluation may be completed by another of your section leaders or it might be another a leader from another section or another Drum Major.
  3. Have the evaluations submitted no later than midnight on Friday, March 1, 2013.  Please share the following link with your evaluators:

Important Information for Drum Major Auditions

All students interested in being considered for Drum Major must complete the process above, and be present at the first round auditions, which will be held on Tuesday, April 2 at 6:00 PM in the Music Building.  From this round of auditions, we will narrow the field and invite students to the second round of auditions, which will take place during the week of April 8-12.  From the second round, we will select our finalists who will conduct the band at the A-Day Game on Saturday, April 20.  After the A-Day Game, we will make our final selections.

The first round of auditions will consist of conducting a recording of the Million Dollar Band.

The second round of auditions will consist of an interview with Dr. Ozzello and Mr.  Coleman.  The finalists will be asked to conduct the band in the stands at the A-Day Game on April 20.  Final decisions will be announced during the week following the A-Day Game.

All members of the Leadership Team should be prepared to report for Band Camp 2013 on Tuesday, August 6 for a two day Leadership Retreat.  New members of the MDB will begin reporting on Thursday, August 8, with veteran members reporting on August 11.
