McEachren HS Wind Symphony

In 1908, John Newton McEachern established the Seventh District Agriculture and Mechanical School in Powder Springs, Georgia. This A&M School would later be transformed in 1934 into John McEachern High School. McEachern High School is located in the Cobb County School District, the second largest school system in the state of Georgia. The campus blooms with beautiful southern magnolia trees amongst original 1908 architecture, but also houses new state of the art buildings and technology for all the students of McEachern High School. The McEachern High School Band Program has become a rich part of the fabric on campus. Members of the band are enrolled in one of four concert band classes, percussion ensembles, and have the opportunities to be participants in the McEachern Marching Band, Jazz Band, Advanced Placement Music Theory, Chamber Ensembles, or Winter Guard programs. The McEachern Wind Symphony has most recently performed for the 2007 Music for All National Concert Band Festival, 2012 University of Georgia “JanFest”, and the 2013 Georgia Music Educators In-Service Conference in Savannah, Georgia. The McEachern High School Marching Band has been a consistent Bands of America Regional Finalist and has received invitations to perform in the 2001 Lord Mayor’s New Year’s Day Parade in London, England, and in the 2006 St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Dublin, Ireland.
