Percussion Camp

Wednesday, June 10 – Saturday, June 13, 2020

The Percussion Camp is designed for high school  percussion performers seeking to improve their performance skills.  The camp will offer small-group and large group instruction and a grand finale performance at the end of the camp. Each student will receive a packet of exercises and other materials.

Students who have just completed 8th – 12th grade are eligible to attend.

Percussion Camp Costs
RESIDENT CAMPER (Staying on campus): $425.00
COMMUTER CAMPER (Commuting each day): $325.00

Percussion Camp Schedule

PERCUSSION CAMP SPECIFIC NEEDS:

  • Your instrument and a stand for that instrument
    • Snare
    • Tenors
    • Bass
    • Cymbals
    • Keyboard percussion will be provided
  • Sticks or mallets – no sticks or mallets will be provided
  • Rehearsal and performance needs
    • Hats
    • Sunscreen
    • Insect Spray
    • Reusable Water Bottle
    • Appropriate summer outdoor clothing
    • Athletic Tennis Shoes
    • Outdoor rehearsal
    • Informal, summer clothes for rehearsals and recreation (e.g. swimsuit – PLEASE be conscious of swimsuit choices)
    • Tennis Shoes
    • Khaki Pants or Shorts (for final performance)
  • Resident Campers:
    • ALL linens are needed for twin size beds OR a sleeping bag
    • Alarm clock
    • Toiletries (soap, shampoo, hair dryer, etc.)
    • Bath towels and washcloths
    • Snacks, microwave meals, soft drinks/water are allowed in the dorms

RESIDENT vs COMMUTER CAMPER
RESIDENT CAMPER fees include all instruction, group activities, housing in University dormitories and select meals each day in the University Dining Halls.

COMMUTER CAMPER fees include all instruction and group activities along with select meals each day. A COMMUTER CAMPER should be housed in the Tuscaloosa area with a relative 21 years old or older.
