Marching Percussion Camp

Tuesday, June 4th – Wednesday, June 5th, 2024

The Percussion Camp is designed for high school percussion performers seeking to improve their performance skills.  The camp will offer small-group and large-group instruction and a grand finale performance at the end of the camp. Each student will receive a packet of exercises and other materials.

Students who have just completed 8th – 12th grade are eligible to attend.

$95 for the two-day camp

TUESDAY, June 4, 2024

8:00 AM                     Check in at Million Dollar Band Lobby – Moody Music Building

8:30 AM                     Begin working in your groups (Battery/Front Ensemble)

11:30 AM                   Lunch (on your own)

1:30 PM                     Resume working in your groups.

5:00 PM                     Dismissal – make sure to hydrate and look over music for tomorrow.

WEDNESDAY, June 5, 2024

8:30 AM                     Begin working in your groups (Battery/Front Ensemble)

11:30 AM                   Lunch (on your own)

1:30 PM                     Resume working in your groups.

4:00 PM                     Show and tell, dismissal following.

What to bring:
• Pencil and notebook
• 3-ring binder with your music in it (music will be provided)
• Water and snack
• Drum sticks and/or keyboard mallets
• Earplugs

Parking: Parking on the University of Alabama campus can be difficult unless you arrive in plenty of time prior to your commitment. We strongly encourage carpooling and recommend parking in the Capstone parking deck on 2nd Avenue across from Moody Music Building. The Capstone deck is $1 per hour and $10 per day.
